Artist's Comments

This was a project done for college last year. Kinda boring (design a newspaper ad for a animal fair) but gods above, do I love scraperboard!

Never heard of this scraperboard stuff, but then again I know nothing about...anything really ;) I like how the words form part of the wolf's mane :)

Oh, scratchboard is sexy! I haven't used it lately, but the thrill of doing something without being able to erase and all... I love it. And I love the sharp contrast of them.

You've done a wonderful job with this piece. I love how it looks like a generic wolf photo, which catches the eye as it is something people are kind of used to seeing but, in my opinion at least, seem to always look at. And then the words are uniquely and interestingly placed within the wolve's ruff of fur. Ingenious. And even more eye-catching. I really like how the words flow and, although placed in unusual places, are all easy to read and follow. I could definately see this advertised. If the words were different, I could see this on some kind of pamphlet, booklet, or totebag at a zoo or something. Very professional, but still different enough to stand out.

You got a good score on this, I hope?

I did indeed. I think 81? (It's rare anyone gets above 90%)

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Now this is what I call art. Simpily amazing and creative. I love how the words are written in the fur it flows nicely. Can I ask what medium did you use for this?
